Through this book Ryan Holiday makes us realise that ego is the root cause of most of our problems. He explains that we fail to follow new aspirations & goals because our ego holds us back. Most of the time we do many non productive activities, only to satisfy our ego. So what not to do is more important than what to do.

Our ego & need to be learning are constantly related to each other. Ryan encourages us to remain a student forever & never let our ego think that we have enough knowledge. Otherwise our learning will end. We should also make the path for the people & support others in making them successful & eventually we will create the path for ourselves.
